The opportunities are vast
Following the global financial crash in 2008, many Spanish properties were simply abandoned by their owners. Great news for investors with vision. These properties range from plots of land, single dwellings through to semi completed developments of apartments and villas. All offering the potential for a great return on investments.
Why Spain?
Spain is the world’s third most popular tourism destination, surpassed only by France and the US. Which makes it an obvious and attractive destination to invest in a holiday rental property.
In 2015, the total number of home sales in Spain increased 11% to 354,513 units from the previous year, according to the Instituto Nacional de Estadistica (INE).
Britons remain the number one foreign homebuyers in Spain, making about 21% of all home purchases by foreigners in 2015, followed by the French, Germans, and Swedish buyers, each accounted for about 6% to 7%.
Spanish house prices will increase by around 5% this year, according to a forecast by Moody’s credit rating agency. The economy is expected to grow by 2.5% in 2017, after growth of 2.6% in 2016, 3.2% in 2015 and 1.4% in 2014, and contractions of 1.7% in 2013, 2.6% in 2012 and 1% in 2011. This according to the European Commission.
